There are many sneaky threats and scams doing the rounds at the moment. Here's one we just came across.

This is likely to come to you from someone in your address book - a known, trusted contact.

Firstly there might be a PDF attachment with an odd name. In this example, "PWL_PL ##4908.pdf". Opening the PDF looks like this:

Firstly, alarm bells should be ringing - look at the awful quality of the Adobe logo. Furthermore notice that at the bottom of the PDS it says it's copyright of Adobe. Would they send out something that looks so shoddy? No. Finally - why would anyone send you links in a PDF? The answer, a clever way of bypassing spam filters which rate emails with links such as this as more likely to be spam and therefore more likely to get flagged up.

So - let's say you click the link. This particular link points to analytiss.com/wp-content/docs/28b7b19d6b2b3a3a86f6b29aefc64556/. This is what  you get next - a series of options for signing in with your account. Now ask yourself, why would you need to sign in with YOUR credentials to see a file that SOMEONE ELSE is trying to send you? They can't protect the file with YOUR CREDENTIALS!

Check out the awful copy/paste and general quality of the logos. It looks suspicious, so you should be suspicious.

This has been cleverly/not so cleverly crafted to look like a Google page - so why are there links to Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook, which ask you for your username and password?

THE REASON IS THIS IS PHISHING. DO NOT ENTER YOUR DETAILS, YOU WILL LITERALLY BE GIVING OVER YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS WHICH CAN BE LINKED NOT ONLY TO YOUR MAILBOX BUT ALSO TO WHATEVER OTHER SERVICES ARE LINKED THAT ACCOUNT!!!

Please always be vigilant!!
