AutoCAD 2014 new improved layer management

Natural Ordered Sort for Layers

Over the years I have worked with many different and varied professions in AutoCAD. The majority of business not only have standardised layers for their drawing objects they also want to see them in a priority order. Previously they would order numerically but using the standard alphanumeric number ie   1, 10, 2, 25, 21, 4, 6.

They have now resolved this and numbered layers appear correctly in number order 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 21, 25.

Layer Merge

LAYMRG has been incorporated in to the Layer Manager. Right click to merge 2 or more layers together onto one layer (and automatically delete the now empty layers).

Or select the merge option in the layers tool bar ribbon and then select objects on the layers you wish to merge together.

Once you have selected objects on the layers that you wish to merge and pressed enter it will ask you to select the target layer to merge to. Select an object on this layer and the first layers will be merged onto this layer and the previous layers removed.
